Baseball Recap: Ellicottville Beats Hinsdale Central for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Ellicottville waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Hinsdale Central Bobcats as they made off with a 15-4 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 two weeks ago.

AJ Myers made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Myers was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ellicottville got a massive performance out of Rylan Benjamin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The Eagles are 2-1 when Benjamin posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Merek Peters also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Ellicottville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Ellicottville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hinsdale Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
