Volleyball Recap: Homestead Spartans vs. Carroll Chargers
Homestead suffered their biggest defeat since August 27th on Thursday. They came up short against the Carroll Chargers, falling 3-0. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-8, 25-13.
Homestead's offense was headlined by Reagan Lyons and Savannah Walker, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Avary Heady and her nine assists. Finally, Caya Nelson kept Homestead's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Homestead's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Carroll, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-0.
Coming up, Homestead will square off against Woodlan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carroll, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Lake Central on the 4th.
