Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Jimtown

While Jimtown's win against NorthWood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jimmies skirted past the Panthers 4-3. The Jimmies haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jimtown's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Dutton, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Jimtown pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for NorthWood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Jimtown will head out to square off against Tippecanoe Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.2 runs per game on average), something the Jimmies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for NorthWood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mishawaka at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavemen have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
