Football Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Rocky Mountain Lobos + Official Tickets

The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will face off against the Rocky Mountain Lobos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fossil Ridge is looking for their season's first win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Fossil Ridge and Legacy meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The SaberCats took a 24-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lightning.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Eli Swanson, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 62 yards. Colton Jantz was another key signal caller, throwing for 238 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, while Rocky Mountain put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Brighton. The Lobos took their game with ease, bagging a 28-0 victory over the Bulldogs. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for the Lobos this season.

The win got Rocky Mountain back to even at 3-3. As for Fossil Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Fossil Ridge against Rocky Mountain in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-7 victory. Will the SaberCats repeat their success, or do the Lobos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
