Basketball Recap: Olympic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Porter Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Olympic). They came out on top against the Porter Ridge Pirates by a score of 72-59 on Friday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Olympic was led to victory by Eddie Cota and Jaden Hardnett. Cota went 9-for-17 to rack up 26 points and four steals, while Hardnett shot 75% from the field on his way to 20 points and four steals. The matchup was Hardnett's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Glance Ross was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Olympic's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Porter Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Olympic will venture away from home to square off against Chambers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Porter Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ardrey Kell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 63.3 points per game this season.
