Steele Canyon is a perfect 3-0 against San Diego Academy since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m.

Steele Canyon lost 3-0 to Santana on Friday. The Cougars have struggled against the Sultans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

While Steele Canyon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Santana's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 27-25.

San Diego Academy won the last time they faced Escondido Adventist Academy, and Josue Flores did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cavaliers blew past the Hawks 3-0 on Saturday with plenty of help from Flores, who had 24 digs and two assists. He has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last five times he's played.

While San Diego Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Steele Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for San Diego Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Steele Canyon took their win against San Diego Academy in their previous matchup on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
