Volleyball Recap: Mara Coulter Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Incarnate Word Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nixa walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Eagles have beaten the Red Knights the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Knights has come to flipping the script.

Nixa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mara Coulter, who had 15 digs and four assists. That's the most assists Coulter has posted since back in October. Another player making a difference was Peyton Creed, who had four digs and three aces.

Nixa's win bumped their record up to 29-10. As for Incarnate Word Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-16.

As of now, neither Nixa nor the Red Knights have any future games scheduled.
