Basketball Game Preview: St. James Saints vs. Maple River Eagles

The St. James Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Maple River Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. James took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] to the tune of 75-33. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Saints as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Maple River beat United South Central 54-48 on Tuesday.

St. James' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Maple River, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

St. James might still be hurting after the 74-48 loss they got from Maple River in their previous matchup back in February of 2016. Can St. James avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
