Preview: Pace Patriots vs. Lafayette Hornets
The Pace Patriots will be playing at home against the Lafayette Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Pace got the win against Milton by a conclusive 27-7. Given Pace's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Milton is ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nick Simmons was his usual excellent self, rushing for 194 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Simmons hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games.
Lafayette fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Jefferson County 38-8 at home.
Their wins bumped Pace to 7-2 and Lafayette to 6-3.
