Softball Recap: Coppell Takes a Loss

Coppell couldn't beat Marcus on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Cowboys fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 9-8. The Cowboys have struggled against the Marauders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Riley Warren and Emma Praytor did some serious damage despite the final result: Warren got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs, while Praytor went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Warren's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecilia Bourque, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coppell's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13-1. As for Marcus, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-8.

As of now, neither Coppell nor the Marauders have any future games scheduled.
