On Tuesday West Washington's undefeated season almost came to an end. They never let the Trinity Lutheran Cougars get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The two-run effort marked the Senators' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Hayden Morrow's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Washington's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nash Ables, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Ables has hit this season. Another was Bryce Heishman, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

West Washington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

West Washington's record is now 7-0. As for Trinity Lutheran, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Looking ahead, West Washington will take on South Greene at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Lutheran, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lanesville at 5:30 p.m.
