Baseball Recap: Leland Comes Up Short

Leland blew Piedmont Hills out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Piedmont Hills got their revenge. The Chargers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 7th.

Leland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Canter, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Canter has become a key player for the Chargers: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-14 otherwise.

Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Piedmont Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leland will take on Willow Glen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Piedmont Hills, they will venture away from home to take on Oak Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
