Soccer Recap: Pine Tree Comes Up Short

If Pine Tree was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Tatum last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pine Tree Pirates fell just short of the Center Roughriders by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Roughriders are ranked 396th).

Pine Tree's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Center, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Pine Tree will venture away from home to take on Kilgore at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Center, they will square off against Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Center is facing Tatum at the right time seeing as Tatum is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
