Softball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McCutcheon, Lafayette Central Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They skirted past the Faith Christian Eagles 6-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kendyl McCammon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Meghan Duffy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Frey, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lafayette Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-16. As for Faith Christian, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lafayette Central Catholic will square off against North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
