Basketball Recap: Bonanza Takes a Loss

Bonanza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eldorado Firehawks. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firehawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Eldorado can attribute much of their success to Sara Torrico, who posted 16 points. Torrico continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emani Dixson, who put up six points.

Bonanza's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Eldorado, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Bonanza will welcome Somerset Academy Losee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eldorado, they will venture away from home to take on Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
