The Devon Prep Tide will face off against the Father Judge Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Devon Prep has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Devon Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They skirted past Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic 3-1.
Caleb Flannery was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Conaty, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Devon Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Father Judge was able to grind out a solid victory over Roman Catholic on Monday, taking the game 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Cahillite: they've now won seven in a row.
Mike Gerstle looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Will Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Father Judge is 2-1 when Henderson posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Jeff Kolakowski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
The victory got Father Judge back to even at 7-7. As for Devon Prep, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Devon Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Father Judge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
