Basketball Game Preview: Trumbull Eagles vs. Ridgefield Tigers

Trumbull is 1-9 against Ridgefield since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trumbull Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ridgefield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Trumbull made off with a 46-45 win over Staples. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wreckers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Ridgefield waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-51 W against the Cardinals. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Cardinals are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trumbull's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for Ridgefield, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
