Fountain Central couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Southmont Mounties on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Mounties recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Foxworthy, who rushed for 118 yards on only 15 carries, and also threw for 95 yards and a touchdown.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Heath Tolliver and he. Tolliver rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown while he rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown. Fountain Central will head out on the road to take on Crawfordsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southmont, they will face off against North Putnam at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2015.
