Basketball Recap: Livingston Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Livingston duked it out withPalestine on Friday. The Livingston Lions fell just short of the Palestine Wildcats by a score of 61-58. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 73-65.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palestine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Mitchell, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Mitchell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Cook, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Livingston's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Palestine, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-9.

Livingston has already played their next game, a 64-62 victory against Hardin-Jefferson on the 7th. As for Palestine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Marshall Christian Academy on the 6th.
