Marysville entered their tilt with Canal Winchester on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 17-6 win. Considering the Monarchs have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Josie Bumgarner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bumgarner was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sienna Hutchins, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and two doubles while going 5-for-5. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Jaidan Hutchins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Marysville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canal Winchester only posted an OBP of .333.

Marysville's victory bumped their record up to 19-6-1. As for Canal Winchester, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-14.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Marysville will host Groveport-Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Canal Winchester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Hartley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
