Antioch lost against Pittsburg back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Antioch Panthers fell 57-50 to the Pittsburg Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Pirates are ranked 221st).

Despite the loss, Antioch still got an impressive performance from Devin Simes, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 18 points and seven assists. What's more, Simes also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Kamren Anderson was another key player, putting up eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Antioch and nudges their season record down to 8-18. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Pittsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.
