Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Raymond Hourani

Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. Westview Wolverines

Even though the Westview Wolverines scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, the Mt. Carmel Sundevils still came out on top. Mt. Carmel walked away with a 65-58 victory over the Wolverines. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mt. Carmel.

It was another big night for Raymond Hourani, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. Jimmy Milder was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Mt. Carmel has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Westview, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

Mt. Carmel will be playing at home against the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Buena Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 games -- so hopefully the Sundevils like a good challenge. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Escondido will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 928th, while the Wolverines are ranked 448th).
