Soccer Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter vs. Bethany Community

The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals will face off against the Bethany Community Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cornerstone Charter managed to keep up with Triad Math and Science Academy until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cardinals came up short against the Bengals, falling 5-2. Cornerstone Charter have struggled against Triad Math and Science Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kendall Pope wasn't going to let Triad Math and Science Academy walk away unscathed as he scored both of Cornerstone Charter's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Bethany Community was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Leadership Academy.

Bethany Community's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-8-1. As for Cornerstone Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-4.

Cornerstone Charter might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Bethany Community in their previous meeting two weeks ago. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cardinals were down 3-0.
