Softball Recap: Gill St. Bernard's Has No Trouble Against Montgomery

Gill St. Bernard never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Montgomery Cougars 15-0. The Knights have beaten the Cougars the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Gill St. Bernard's let Isabella Mecca and Sammi Kalinak run wild. Mecca scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Kalinak scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Mecca a new career-high. Brynn McCarthy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Gill St. Bernard's record now sits at 2-0. As for Montgomery, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Gill St. Bernard's will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
