Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Takes a Loss

Temple Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Genoa Christian Academy and fell 61-11. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.

Genoa Christian Academy was led to victory by Reagan Schuck and Avery Norman. Schuck went 9-for-14 en route to 18 points and six rebounds, while Norman went 6-for-12 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. That's the most steals Norman has posted since back in December of 2024. Leah Kinley was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Temple Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Genoa Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Temple Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 27-24 loss against Christian Community on the 17th. As for Genoa Christian Academy, they will welcome Dominion Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Dominion Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Genoa Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
