The Hillcrest Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Cottonwood Colts at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Hillcrest was able to grind out a solid win over Brighton, taking the game 12-8.

The team relied heavily on Savil Hughes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Skylynn Salazar Bell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cottonwood came up short against Murray on Thursday, falling 21-3. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost five in a row.
Tialer Mounts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Hillcrest's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Cottonwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hillcrest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cottonwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hillcrest took their victory against Cottonwood in their previous matchup on April 3rd by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
