Basketball Game Preview: Carter Green Hornets vs. Knoxville Central Bobcats

The Carter Green Hornets will challenge the Knoxville Central Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carter will be strutting in after a win while Knoxville Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Carter's tournament run continued when they took on Unicoi County on Monday. Carter managed a 69-65 victory over Unicoi County.

Meanwhile, Knoxville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt an 80-52 defeat at the hands of Page. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Patriots are ranked 40th).

Carter is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Knoxville Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Carter came up short against Knoxville Central when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 54-46. Can Carter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
