Antonian Prep beats St. Pius X for their fifth straight win

The Antonian Prep Apaches had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 38-28 victory over St. Pius X. Given Antonian Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 261st, while St. Pius X is ranked 736th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Pius X's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Yearwood, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Antonian Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for St. Pius X, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antonian Prep will challenge Concordia Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Pius X is on the road again on Friday and play against St. Thomas Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. St. Thomas Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
