Softball Game Preview: Cordova Lancers vs. Grant Pacers

The Cordova Lancers will challenge the Grant Pacers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Cordova and 11 for Grant.

Cordova came up short against Kennedy on Thursday, falling 16-6.

Briel Brookins was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sarah-Irene Njuki, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Grant lost 14-2 to Antelope on Thursday.

Jalaiya Walker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-1.

Everything went Cordova's way against Grant in their previous meeting on April 3rd, as Cordova made off with a 16-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
