Softball Game Preview: Southeastern Panthers vs. Waverly Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Southeastern Panthers take on Waverly Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeastern is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Southeastern came up short against Gallia Academy on Monday, falling 12-3.

Kylie Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and eight unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Jade Turner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Lydia Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Waverly didn't have quite enough to beat Fairfield on Saturday and fell 3-2.

Waverly saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Robertson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Caris Risner was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Waverly's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Southeastern, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.
