Basketball Recap: Barlow Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Barlow, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-53 victory over the Mountainside Mavericks on Saturday. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Mavericks are ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barlow's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mountainside, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barlow will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Mountainside, they will be playing at home against Summit at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Summit's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
