With a playoff win on the line, Torres rose to the challenge  on Friday. They put the hurt on the Granite Hills Grizzlies with a sharp  11-1 win. Considering the Toros have won nine contests by more than seven  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Layla Webster spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Mylah Avila was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with seven  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April.  Ariana Garcia was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI.
 Torres  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .576. They are 10-1 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Torres' victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Granite Hills,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-15.
 Coming up, Torres will take on Riverdale at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Granite Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
