Softball Game Preview: Scottsboro Wildcats vs. Sardis Lions

The Scottsboro Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Sardis Lions at 10:45 a.m. on Monday. Scottsboro is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Scottsboro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Monday. They had just enough and edged out Arab 2-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Sardis not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 15-0). Everything went their way against Douglas as they made off with a 13-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Scottsboro pushed their record up to 25-13-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Sardis, their win bumped their record up to 28-16.

Scottsboro was able to grind out a solid victory over Sardis in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, winning 5-1. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
