Softball Game Preview: Mt. Blue Cougars vs. Hampden Broncos

Mt. Blue is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Hampden a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Mt. Blue Cougars will host the Hampden Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mt. Blue and Lewiston meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Hampden faced Bangor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Broncos wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Hampden's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Mt. Blue, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
