Volleyball Recap: Lee Vining Takes a Loss

Lee Vining dropped to 1-8 on Monday, ending the team's three-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Lone Pine Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since October 11, 2024.

Gwen Price paced Lee Vining's offense, picking up five kills. Price got some help from Ember Elits and her ten assists. Finally, Mia Dublino kept Lee Vining's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

As for Lone Pine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11-2. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 3-0).

Lone Pine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yesenia Alegre led the charge by getting 11 kills, four digs, and two blocks. That's the most digs Alegre has posted over her last three contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Martinez, who had five kills, four aces, and three digs.

Lee Vining wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Immanuel Christian on the 26th. As for Lone Pine, they will host Mojave at 5:00 p.m. on October 1.
