Softball Recap: Augusta Christian Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Silver Bluff, Augusta Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past Avery Sheppard, who gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Ridge Spring-Monetta off the board.

At the plate, Bailey Brown was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Krebs, who earned one RBI and two stolen bases.

Augusta Christian's record is now 10-1. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Augusta Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Horse Creek Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they are taking a road trip to take on Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on the 10th.
