Baseball Game Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Sonora Raiders

For the second straight game, Troy will face off against Sonora. The Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Raiders at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Troy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Sonora's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Troy is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since April 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Sonora by a score of 3-1. The Warriors have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Sonora's part, Robby Blaine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Blaine has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan Lietzau was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Sonora and bumps their season record up to 15-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Troy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.
