Softball Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cossatot River last Tuesday, Charleston came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Booneville Bearcats on Friday, falling 15-2. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Charleston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Rowland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Rowland has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Booneville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Charleston is set to challenge their familiar foe Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Booneville will square off against rival Cossatot River at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
