Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Wildcats vs. Tellico Plains Bears
The Sweetwater Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell to Tellico Plains 71-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Sweetwater still got an impressive performance from Chris Alford, who shot 5-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. Alford is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Nolan Dacus was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Sweetwater's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Tellico Plains, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Sweetwater will head out on the road to face off against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tellico Plains, they will be playing at home against the Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Loudon is ranked 236th, while the Bears are ranked 221st).
