Basketball Recap: Grayson Christian Finds Playoff Glory Versus Vanguard Christian

Grayson Christian extended their postseason success on Saturday against Vanguard Christian. They breezed past the Vanguard Christian Knights to the tune of 60-23. The victory was nothing new for Grayson Christian as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Grayson Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter McGowan, who went 11-for-15 on his way to 28 points and five boards. With that strong performance, McGowan is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Treyvon Ballard, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 20 rebounds.

Grayson Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Vanguard Christian lost, don't look at Jayden Postell. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and four steals. That was a full 43.5% of Vanguard Christian's points, marking the third time in a row Postell has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Grayson Christian's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Vanguard Christian, they moved to 22-5 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
