Recap: Warren Central Warriors vs. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves

Even though the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves scored an imposing 70 points on Saturday, the Warren Central Warriors still came out on top. Warren Central had just enough and edged Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory out 72-70. The win made it back-to-back wins for Warren Central.

Despite the loss, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory still got an impressive performance from Evan Haywood, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 2 assists. Haywood scored a full 44.3% of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reis Butcher, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Warren Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Warren Central will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. Lawrence North knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Warren Central likes a good challenge. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they will head out on the road to face off against Zionsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Zionsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is ranked 17th).
