Softball Recap: West Covina Gets the Win

West Covina was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Costa Mesa Mustangs by a score of 8-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 last Wednesday.

West Covina let Danielle Diaz and Hazel Manzano run wild. Diaz scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-2, while Manzano went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave Diaz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liliana Lopez, who scored two runs and stole a base.

West Covina now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Costa Mesa, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Covina will head out to take on San Dimas at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Costa Mesa, they will face off against University at 3:15 p.m. on March 24th.
