Football Game Preview: St. Joseph Christian vs. Stanberry

St. Joseph Christian have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Stanberry at 7:00 PM. If the game is anything like the 56-42 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

St. Joseph Christian suffered a grim 6-36 defeat to North Andrew two weeks ago. St. Joseph Christian were down by 6-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Stanberry and King City/Union Star -- ranked 18th and 49th in the MaxPreps national rankings, respectively -- squared off last Friday in a high-profile contest. Stanberry strolled past King City/Union Star with points to spare, taking the contest 46-28.

Stanberry's win lifted them to 3-0 while St. Joseph Christian's loss dropped them down to 0-2. In their win, Stanberry relied heavily on senior Trey Schieber, who rushed for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for St. Joseph Christian will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
