Basketball Recap: Clarkdale Takes a Loss

Clarkdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-46 to the Scott Central Rebels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-55 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Clarkdale lost, don't look at Cade Culpepper. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. That was a full 39.1% of Clarkdale's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Connor Mcdill was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Clarkdale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Scott Central, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.

Clarkdale will head out to take on Bay Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. As for Scott Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lake at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
