Recap: Purdue Polytechnic Techies vs. Tindley Tigers

The Purdue Polytechnic Techies are still undefeated this season after their match against the Tindley Tigers on Tuesday, but the Tindley Tigers came as close as anyone has to beating them. Purdue Polytechnic narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tindley 46-44. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Purdue Polytechnic has scored all season.

Purdue Polytechnic had a senior duo take command as Kaleb Tate scored 17 points and Antwan Dorsett scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Tate scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Johnson, who scored six points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damon Van horn, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Van horn's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adonis Warfield, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.

Purdue Polytechnic pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Tindley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1.

Purdue Polytechnic will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Tindley will be home for the holidays to greet Indiana Math & Science Academy North at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Indiana Math & Science Academy North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 44 on Tuesday.
