Baseball Recap: South Summit Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

South Summit waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Millard Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Tuesday.

Owen Mair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has become a key player for South Summit: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Brody Larson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of South Summit's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Theus Reed also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

South Summit's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Millard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

South Summit will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
