Mt. Pleasant is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Yough on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-4 win. The Vikings have beaten the Cougars the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Cole Chatfield made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mt. Pleasant let Santino Marne and Jordan Grieff run wild. Marne scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Grieff scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Marne a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Carter Strayer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Mt. Pleasant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burrell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Ligonier Valley on Tuesday.
Mt. Pleasant pushed their record up to 7-4-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Burrell, their record is now 10-3.
Burrell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mt. Pleasant hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. It's a different story for Burrell, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Mt. Pleasant's hitters?
Mt. Pleasant came up short against Burrell in their previous matchup last Wednesday, falling 10-5. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
