Soccer Game Preview: Eagle Ridge Academy vs. The Academy

The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against The Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Eagle Ridge Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Saturday, they were much more limited against Colorado Academy on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Eagle Ridge Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Colorado Academy are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, The Academy fell victim to Prospect Ridge Academy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Miners, falling 6-0. The Academy haven't had much luck with Prospect Ridge Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The Academy suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Eagle Ridge Academy took their victory against The Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. In that match, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
