Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Broncs vs. Central Indians

If Sheridan was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Thunder Basin last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sheridan Broncs fell just short of the Central Indians by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Broncs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.

Sheridan actually scored more points across those five sets (107-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 14-25, 24-26, 17-15.

Leading Central to victory were Avarie Gutierrez and Lily Brownell. Gutierrez had 15 digs, while Brownell had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces Brownell has posted since back in September.

Sheridan dropped their record down to 9-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Sheridan and Laramie will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laramie will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Sheridan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they will face off against East at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
