Evangel Christian has gone a perfect 5-0 against Southern Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Evangel Christian Lightning are taking a road trip to take on the Southern Christian Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Evangel Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Evangel Christian got the win against Heritage Christian Academy by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Lightning, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

AIDAN CRANFORD was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Evangel Christian got a big performance out of RALEY CURTIS, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was KC GABLES, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Southern Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lafayette Christian. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Evangel Christian pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. As for Southern Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Everything went Evangel Christian's way against Southern Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Evangel Christian made off with a 15-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evangel Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
